the door know till the backyard, and if you could add wheels and an engine
to your house, along with the attachments of heater and air-condition
system.
A home on wheels would be a great idea and if you are to buy the used
RV, you need to pay some necessary attention or go for an immaculate and
pristine in condition, if you can spend little more bugs. Here are some
tips when you opt for a used RV. Make the inspections before you purchase
it
1. Perfect checking of the propane system is the first and foremost thing
as it is related to both your investment and your life. Check out the
hose, the tank and the regulator. Do not neglect these simplest problems,
as often there are RV fire accidents due to bad propane system
2. Complete examination of the house batteries is very essential. Or you
have to replace them, which are highly expensive. There could be 6 batteries
in numbers, which would cost more than your estimated budget. Take a specialist
in such chores and find out whether they are very well topped with water;
how well they hold charge? The power of the lights and other items related
to that.
3. Inspect the refrigerator inside the used RV. Ensure it works on both
propane and with electricity. See to that it automatically moves to gas
when you switch off the shore power. Repairs related to this can be expensive.
4. Investigate all about the conditions of furnace and air conditioning.
5. Check out the toilet that it holds water. RV that is not used for a
particular period may have the toilet dried out. Add some water to test
the holding capacity.
6. If there is soft spot on the flooring, note it down for larger problems
of leaky pipes or drainage, which will ultimately lead to rot the wood.
7. Examine the skin of the used RV. Do not consider flaking frames, rusting-out
fenders, structural rust or hood hinge mounts, as all these are major
problems and become doubled sooner.
8. Ask for the records and receipts of engine maintenance, especially
if it is a gas engine. Do it with a trusted mechanic.
9. Make an oil analysis, regardless of all the records, to find out the
fuel dilution of the oil, dirt contamination, antifreeze in the oil, excessive
worn out of internal components, usage of low quality lubricants. Early
detections is good.
10. Check out the availability of the spare parts for the used RV.
11. Just compare the repairs and the budget. Then you can decide for purchasing.
12. Do not under estimate the pre-checking of the used RV. Do it thoroughly
and if you are suspicious, make it clear before you purchase.
